How amazing to actually look up a word!

Reading the Bible can be very revealing, it might go into at least two directions:

You can read it as a moral code, a history book, out 'there', in 'this world', in the flesh; seemingly outside of yourself. You maybe get very deep into context, commentaries and trying to make sense.

But with each word, with each passage there is also the opportunity of looking inward; a gentle and brave scanning of your own inner being... rather subtle, but very helpful. More like a listening, a discovery of the space in which the words and mental images appear, are known and disappear, in you, as I am.

CONCEPTS ...

'God is Love' is a concept. Three single words, each word maybe worthy of uncounted books.

A concept is like the menu in a restaurant; but only eating the meal will satisfy your hunger.

What do we do with concepts?

Words are like street signs, for our attention to follow.

The word God is not God; it is an idea in your thinking mind, like a statue, an idol.

"God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and in truth." John 4:24

The subject matter of the Bible is to reacquaint with Reality, God.

Personally I am not too much interested what happend 2,000 years ago, I want to be awake and attuned here and now, the place where I can contribute.

In studying the Bible I learn more about myself; amazing how locked up we all are in our assumptions and familiarities.

GOD ...

God is the cause of the phenomena of life.

"For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'"

God is Consciousness, individualized as you and me -- everyone -- in different degrees of awareness.

"This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent--Jesus Christ."

What is Consciousness, Christ, man, body, idea, sin, prayer, spirituality?

What are we looking for?

CHRISTIANITY ...

"Unfortunately it is so easy to make the acceptance of Christianity a substitute for living by it."

The three great foundation stones of Christianity: the Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of Man, and Life Everlasting.

"Christianity is an Abrahamic monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. Its adherents, known as Christians, believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and savior of all people, whose coming as the Messiah was prophesied in the Hebrew Scriptures of Judaism, called Old Testament in Christianity, and chronicled in the New Testament. It is the world's largest religion with over 2.4 billion followers." -- Wikipedia

“I and my Father are one.” That is, I, Awareness, and the ultimate reality of the universe are one and the same reality. --Rupert Spira

"In this realization true knowledge and love are revealed to be one and the same – the experiential realization that the true nature of the apparently inside self and the apparently outside world are one single reality made out of the transparent light of Awareness, that is, made out of the intimacy of our own Being." --Rupert Spira

The nature of God

"Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. 7Where can I go to escape Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? 8If I ascend to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there.…" Psalm 139:7

‘Son, you are always with me,’ the father said, ‘and all that is mine is yours'. Luke 15:31

"Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32

"Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4Through these He has given us His precious and magnificent promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.…" 2 Peter 1:3

The nature of error

"But the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to understand them, because spiritually they are discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:14

"For the nations of the world strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added unto you." Luke 12:31

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." Luke 12:31

"You need not fight this battle. Take up your positions, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf" 2 Chronicles 20:17

The nature of prayer

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." 2 Corinthians 3:17

"Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, 'Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.'" 1 Samuel 3:9

"thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly." Matthew 6:4

"In that day you will ask in My name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God.…" John 16:26

"My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

TREE ...

299:18 "Knowledge gained from material sense is figuratively represented in Scripture as a tree, bearing the fruits of sin, sickness, and death."

SPIRITUALITY ...

"Being aware of inner space". Eckhart Tolle

FAITH ...

"The inherent power in you, the power of life itself; it has no form." Eckhart

SPACIOUSNESS ...

"To be aligned with power behind all creation." Eckhart

EGO ...

Your form identity. Eckhart

RELIGION ...

"having certain beliefs, which is thoughts; those beliefs can be a help or a hindrance... they can be a wall or an open door." Eckhart

HEAVEN ...

"Jesus said, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is within you.‘ I think if he lived nowadays, instead of 'kingdom,‘ he would have said, 'dimension.‘ And 'heaven' refers to a sense of [inner] vastness or spaciousness." Eckhart

SABBATH ...

"Quitting the internal noise so we hear the still small voice of our Lord. Removing the distractions of pride so we discern the presence of Christ"

"Uncluttered time and space to distance ourselves from the frenzy of our own activities so we can see what God has been and is doing. If we do not regularly quit work for one day a week we take ourselves far too seriously. The moral sweat pouring off our brows blinds us to the primal action of God in and around us."

Eugene Peterson

AWARENESS (Spirit) ...

"Before any thought, sensation or perception tells us anything about a mind, body or world, it first announces the presence of Awareness in which it appears, with which it is known and, ultimately, out of which it is made. As such, all experience shines with the light of Awareness." Rupert Spira

ATTENTION ...

Rupert once phrased it this way: attention is awareness plus object.

HEAVEN, INNER SPACE

The character Jesus in the Bible can be seen as a personification of your unique rediscovery of Awareness (Spirit), your true nature.

"Unto us a child is born..."

"The true Light who gives light to every man was coming into the world. 10He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. 11He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.…" John 1:10

IRRITATION, RESTLESSNESS, BOREDOM ...

"I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God.” Numbers 15:41

"Be sensitive to any feelings of irritation, restlessness or boredom.

If we are irritated or restless we are resisting what is present and if we are bored we are seeking what is not present.

Who is the one that is irritated, restless or bored? It is not I -- Awareness.

I -- Awareness -- knows nothing of such feelings. What other self is there apart from I -- Awareness? Can you find another self in yourself.

Rupert

SUFFERING ...

"... suffering is always our attitude to the circumstance."

"Happiness is available in the form of peace of mind. Peace of mind isn’t the addition of something, it is the absence of the falling away of suffering."

71:41 "What I’m really looking for is happiness in daily living.

Happiness in daily living is the end of suffering; continuous unbroken peace of mind for the human being.

What we find out is that the cause of suffering is a set of false beliefs that have been put in place by life, meaning put in place by our experience of life.

Our observation of life, our conclusion of life; all of which are relative.

The belief has been put in place in such a way where it is considered to be truth.

And therefore as life unfolds it hits into these beliefs that we consider to be Who I am and these reactions of guilt blame pride worry expectation happen."
